What Makes Pancit Bisaya Different?

You might be wondering what makes Bam-i pancit bisaya? Well. for starters, it makes use of all the yummy delicacies of Cebu. For example, the “sahog” or ingredients would typically include lechon or dried fish coming from Cebu.

What makes Pancit Bisaya different are the noodles. A bam-i recipe requires two kinds of noodles. These are vermicelli noodles (also known as sotanghon)  and pancit canton noodles (also known as flour stick noodles)

Here’s a Bam-i Recipe For You

For Pancit Bisaya lovers, here’s a simple bam-i recipe for you.

Ingredients:

• 1/4 cup of cooking oil
• 8 cloves of peeled and sliced garlic
• 1 piece of sliced onion
• 250g of sliced pork
• 250g of chicken boiled in 2 cups of water
•  50g of black fungus mushroom
• 30g of hebi or dried shrimps
• 30g of dried stripped squid
• 2 pieces of Chorizo de Bilbao (sliced)
• 1/2 cup of soy sauce
• 250g Sotanghon noodles
• 250g of Pancit Canton noodles
• 100g of sliced carrot
• 50g of sliced cabbage
• 2 stalks of chopped spring onions
• 1 sachet of 30g of oyster sauce
• 1 tsp of ground black pepper
• 2 cups of water
