A Lola Nena’s stall was never hard to find. You could always find one somewhere. 😀

For years we would drop by the stall along Katipunan and buy some pichi pichi.

Just like a typical Filipino store, I would ask the kuya or the manang to prepare my orders. My orders would then be handed to me in a styrofoam container.

Just recently we decided to drop by a Lola Nena’s stall along Xavier Avenue. To my amazement, the pichi pichi now comes in a neat-looking box.

Those styrofoam containers were finally gone.

The Best Pichi Pichi

In my opinion, nothing beats our local desserts. Kakanin, puto, and sweet sticky desserts are the best.

It’s sort of like mochi but no since pichi pichi is made out of cassava. In terms of texture, they’re pretty similar. 😃

Although it’s pretty easy to find pichi pichi in the metro, I would have to say that the ones from Lola Nena’s are the best.

As a matter of fact, it’s because of their pichi pichi that we became loyal customers.

There was just no other place for us to get pichi pichi but from Lola Nena’s.

The good news is that the quality of their pichi pichi has not changed at all.

Lola Nena’s Siopao Tostado is A Worth A Try

After all the years that we’ve been patronizing Lola Nena’s, we finally got to try their toasted siopao.

There were two good reasons why we decided to.

First, the price was not bad at all. It goes for Php 168 a box. Inside the box are twelve pieces of siopao tostado.

Second, the box looks really cool.

While Lola Nena’s has come a long way, the quality of its food products has not changed at all. Lola Nena’s is definitely here to stay for a very long time. 😄
