Flavors Restaurant at the Holiday Inn is the best place where you can hold your reunions. It was definitely the ideal spot for a memorable 1989 Philippine Airlines Batch Reunion.
The food was fantastic. It lived up to its name. Customer service was amazing. The service crew was always smiling and on their toes to make sure we were taken care of.
The venue was humongous enough for the entire batch to fit comfortably. There was even a stage for the amazing performances prepared for the night. 🤩

Flavors Restaurant Holiday Inn Is Definitely The Ideal Spot For A Memorable 1989 PAL Batch Reunion
After weeks of looking around for the perfect venue, it was finally decided that the Flavors Restaurant at the Holiday Inn would be the ideal spot for the event, offering both a great ambiance and a convenient location.
Thanks to the hard-working team, led by Flight Purser Loida Pamulaklakin-Vargas, the 35th anniversary of Philippines Airlines Batch 1989 was a complete success!

Flavors Holiday Inn Buffet Review
Now, let’s talk about the food. Well, definitely, food was abundant. Yes, it was food galore the whole night. There were various food stations.
The salad station was pretty good, and the veggies were fresh, especially the crisp lettuce. Safe to say, I was satisfied with the salad since it came with a lot of other ingredients. 😍
The salad station was strategically located beside the bread station.
Of course, there was a wide variety of dishes we could choose from. Except for the lechon, which was courtesy of Lizette Graven of PAL Batch 89-02. 😘

35 Years of Togetherness And Craziness
It’s pretty hard to believe that 35 years ago, Batch 1989 was the super junior batch of the cabin crew of Philippine Airlines. We were young, naive, crazy, and scared.
But mostly excited about the opportunity to be with Philippine Airlines as cabin crew, ready to take on the skies and embark on an incredible journey that would shape our lives forever.
We successfully braved the basic training, which included survival swimming and exams. Then off to Cebu, where we had to fly turboprop planes.
Some of my batchmates enjoyed Cebu so much that they opted to stay, and some decided to relocate back to Manila. After a couple of months, we were upgraded to fly jets.
From turboprop, we were finally qualified to fly 737-300, Airbus-300, and Bac1-11.
We flew domestic routes for about three years, and during that time, we grew even closer to each other. Those were the days when we would fly the whole day and end up in Faces or Euphoria at night.
We could afford to since all we had to do was present our IDs and we could get in for free. We didn’t even have to line up.
There were a lot of perks that came with being a PAL Flight Attendant.
Then finally, we were upgraded to fly the international routes and since the flights were longer, we couldn’t spend so much time with each other anymore. But still, we tried to fly with each other to be together.
As the years passed, some left, some ventured to new pastures, while others stayed. But through it all, the craziness and friendship remained.
To quote Flight Purser Ann Luat, “We all started from scratch. Some have decided to stay, some have moved forward, and slayed! One thing is for sure, the friendship stays. We will always be proud of what we’ve become.”
Congratulations, PAL Batch 1989!
